Villa Borghese Biviere

A place that keeps
memory and beauty

Biviere, the historic estate of the Borghese Princes, is located in Sicily, halfway between Catania and Syracuse. It's a magical and unexpected place. Once you cross its threshold, you feel like you're entering a dream, something greater.
Once a lake of mythological origins, in the Middle Ages it became a hunting and fishing reserve for the Knights Templar. In the early 1900s, due to the outbreak of malaria, the lake was completely drained, becoming a vast desert, devoid of plants or trees.
On this lifeless land, born from the vision, tenacity, dedication, and love of the Borghese family, an oasis that is a hymn to life and beauty, ready to welcome anyone who wishes to be a part of it.

The entire estate is now cared for and enhanced by Giangiacomo and Virginia Borghese, who with courage, passion, and dedication have chosen to preserve its historic soul, transforming it into a meeting place of nature, culture, and high-level hospitality.
Between the historic botanical garden, organic citrus groves, and spaces rich in memories, the property offers an exclusive experience, where the charm of history meets a contemporary vision of hospitality, capable of instilling profound harmony and fostering an authentic connection with one's essence.

Hospitality

Each room is inspired by a different plant in the garden and has its own identity, while remaining connected to the others by an invisible thread.

Their sober and refined elegance tells of environments designed for the authentic well-being of the guest, where textured plasters and constant references to the past coexist with antique pieces, craftsmanship and discreet contemporary references.

Events

There are places that provide the backdrop to an event and places that become an integral part of it.
At Biviere, every event is born from a dialogue with the estate's history, nature, and architecture. The botanical garden, terraces, pergolas, ancient granaries, the Fishermen's House, the Church of Sant'Andrea, and the outdoor spaces offer diverse settings, each with its own unique character.

The Organic Estate

the other soul of Biviere

Alongside the historic buildings, ancient residences, and botanical garden that preserves centuries of history, lives the other soul of Biviere: its agricultural estate.

A 140-hectare landscape where nature is not only contemplated, but cultivated and respected every day. Since 1993, the farm has followed the principles of organic farming, striking a profound balance between land, biodiversity, and tradition.

Experiences

Biviere is not just a place to visit but to experience.

Accompanied by those who care for this place every day, guests can explore the botanical garden, discovering monumental trees, collections of species from around the world, and the history of an ever-evolving garden.
